So, we are starting a section of theme reviews by those who use them. You! Tonight theme fan Erin from Australia is going to give us her review of the Real Icon 1.0 Today Calx theme.

This theme is one for professional and power users alike.  It’s minimalist and easy to master homescreen make this one of the best blackberry themes I’ve used yet.

Backgrounds, fonts and icons have clearly been chosen with usability in mind.  Unlocked, the home screen is dominated by the calendar and message centre. Locked, the disk like signal and battery life icons are bright and highly visible from a good few meters away.

Each message type has a different miniature icon to alert you and, will indicate how many of each type you have. Good news for Facebook addicts too – your Facebook alerts will display in the message centre, no need to open the Facebook application to view notifications.

Overall Real Icon 1.0 Today is a definite keeper. I would recommend it to anyone that likes having their messages and calendar at their fingertips, or to anyone looking for a simple uncluttered theme. Click here to grab the Real Icon theme.
