Man. this interview I have waited for a long time. Most of you know him as @ninja_says on twitter. I know him as Mr. Betty White. Finally I got this chance to interview him and have a real life “60 Minutes” type chat. Please enjoy.

T) How did you come up with the name Ninja themes?

N) Well, it all started on a small, deserted island in the deep pacific, training my ninja skillz. That’s how I roll. Many years later after perfecting my arts, I felt the need to use these things people call “gadgets” so I got a blackberry. Then, I thought I’d go by ninja please on crackberry cause, why not? And from there, I ran out of ideas for a theme development name =) And also, because Ninja Themes pawns your moms. That is all.

T) How did you get into theme development?

N)When I got my 8310 last year I saw some nice themes but I’m incredibly picky. When I found out I could make them myself, I jumped at the chance cause I wanted my bb to look a certain way. I wasn’t planning on ever putting them out there, but I thought hey why not. It’ll give people something to complain about.

T) And yes it does. People will complain but they seem to love your stuff.  What was your first theme you created?

N) Haha, this really ugly Dimension Zen style theme for 83xx called Your Skull Is Red… basically just a red and black theme with red skulls on the bg’s and stuff. I like darker themes. It’s buried in the crackberry forums somewhere, still… It’s horrible, so please keep it that way.

T)I’m sorry what was that? Leave it where? (Folks see above)  Funny, I dug that theme up. Anywhooooo- What does a ninja do during the day for work?

N)I teach fun nerdy science. Cause we all know science is fun. Right? Can I get a chemistry POWER fist pump? ftw?

T) Can I get a FAIL.  I failed Chemistry. So should everybody.  I will stick to MATH. So, what inspires you in your theme creation?

N)A lot of different things… I build themes around whatever catches my eye, it can be a wallpaper or a font, a colour pattern or even a banner style I have in mind. Betty White is hot, too. She helps.

T).  What irks you about theme development?

N). Lots of things… in actual theme making, probably my pickyness. I piss me off a lot. If something isn’t just right, it could take hours to fix. But I have to fix it or else it ain’t happening. It can get quite annoying… Outside of development, something that really gets on my nerves is the thoughtless demands and the “why can’t you do this for free” business. If developers customized every one’s theme for free, the earth would have to stop moving for a while cause there’s not enough time in the day. So I do them for donations. This way it weeds out the ones looking for a handout from the ones that are really wanting their theme perfect.

and the main thing that really… REALLY irks me. If you’re going to keep the stock icons, the theme should be free. Don’t charge for a theme you half assed, pal.

T).See man, I love your passion. And i couldn’t agree more. You guys should get paid for your work. But alas, we will save that for our next session. Do you see theming changing in the next year?

N: Absolutely, I’ve seen it in the last 10 months I’ve been making themes. With new devices and new OS’es there’s going to be a lot of progress. Look at what people are doing with svg’s nowadays, I’d say that’s a big step up from the way things were even a few months ago.

T) Can I have your thoughts of people upset about paying for themes?

N) I can sympathize with those people in a way, because a lot of times you really don’t get what you pay for. If you’re like me, you’ll probably spend more money on themes that you end up deleting anyway, than themes you actually use. So I get that. But if a theme can flow and it suits you, why not throw the developer a few bucks? Complaining just makes you look like a whiny ass. True, lot of themes are way overpriced and I don’t see why. But if a theme is worthy of being on that person’s device, either throw the developers some money or just go without. Pretty simple really.

T) Thats a good way to put it. For all my ninja stalkers, where are you located?

N) Somewhere in nether regions of hell, situated in between a redneck and a hillbilly. aka southern US. That is all =)

T) Arkansas isn’t it? No wait, Alabama.

T) If you have the chance to have dinner with three important people past or present who would they be? (You can exclude me bc I am obvious)

N) Well damn, now I gotta think of an extra… I’d definitely have dinner with Stephen Hawking and pick his brain, he is probably one of the most insightful brilliant minds mankind has ever known. Also, Carl Sagan cause he made me want to be science-y and he had a killer comb-over. I think the last one would be less nerdy, Kurt Cobain. Just cause.

T) That is a pretty insightful threesome. Wouldn’t that be some dinner.  So what bb device do you use regularly.

N) My Bold, always. I have a 8310 still but it got all emo on me and stopped working.

T) Best golden girl from the show?

N) Betty White, she is a beautiful goddess. Betty, if you read this, holla. I gotchoo.

T) Nah, Sofia bro. Sofia. That wig. Those cankles. I’m Sweating already. Ok I digress (grasping for water).  Which celebrity would you want to follow for a day?

N) I’d follow Jessica Alba so I can look at her… wits. All day.

T) Do you follow sports?

N) Baseball mostly, go Dodgers!

T) Cardinals sir.  On twitter you are extremely popular. Do you use Facebook or Myspace as well?

N) I have been known to have a Facebook, but I don’t use it for the sole purpose of annoying my friends by not accepting their cute little teddy bear requests. I’m way too antisocial!
