RIM is putting out a really great Theme Studio! This is a free suite of theme designs, animation tools and illustrations.  All of this will make it a lot easier to create custom themes.

Though the lower OS’s are few and far between, this is only for BlackBerry OS 4.2.2 and higher. This also is including support for the new the BlackBerry Storm 2 and Bold 9700.

Theme Builder and Blackberry Composer

The theme builder does your basic theme building. The Composer is an animation and illustration tool for creating animated SVG graphics. Everyone loves an animated theme. Now it will be easier than ever to make them. You can also animate web sites and applications for BlackBerry smartphones.

The Blackberry Theme Studio 5.0 will replace Plazmic Content Developers Kit. It also features the ability to import Adobe Photoshop files into the Theme Studio, add ringtones and build screen transitions such as sliding, wiping and fading within themes. *

RIM also announced today that themes for Blackberry can now be submitted to the BlackBerry App World! Great way to get your themes out to more people!
