BlackBerry Playbook 10’’ development is on hold, because of QNX BlackBerry SmartPhones?
Earlier announcement we have heard was that RIM management is exploring the idea of creating a Playbook with larger screen than the 7-inch introductory model released last April, although few versions are still out there being used. This larger screen shots were guessed to be triggered by the competing models such as Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab, which have 10-inch screens.
However, there were no shows on the development of the product. Expectants are on the look for a year now for the new progress on this regard.
Several speculations came out that the development path takes its new course. Insider tips were that RIM were pinning the materialization of this 10 inch Playbook due to the refocusing of the development back to the “superphones” or smart phones- based on QNX to compete with the Android’s current smartphones. Mixed opinions on whether to create a playbook few more inches larger from the latest 7 inch playbook would be a wiser choice. Others said that the problem were in the software, not the hardware. N4BB’s belief that RIM planned to create this smart phones built with 1.2-Ghz processor and a 4.3 inch screen.
The rumored “superphone uses the same core processor as the BlackBerry Bold 9900, which is by the way, offered to launch this September.
But as of now, all are just but rumors, no other details yet are given by the RIM. We will be remained curious whether QNX-based BlackBerrys is out Late in 2011 or early 2012.
