Has anyone seen their call log and messages will disappear randomly? When this occurs, I loose about a week and a half of messages and calls in the log. My option is set to 15 days. Does that mean that ever 15 days it purges or is it a rolling 15 days? My co worker with the 8830 has the same issue.

If it's set at 15 days yes your messages will be deleted every 15 days. The message will also be deleted when you run low on memory.

The memory is a big thing. If you never delete text/mms/emails, this can happen. A BB rep also told me that keeping your display brightness at a lower setting can help lower memory consumption

As much as we love our themes, this can sometimes cause this problem. I had to get rid of some themes I am not using. Good Luck!

I'd buy battery consumption, but screen brightness should have nothing to do with memory usage.

My pearl does the same thing. Mine is set at 30 days, but I lose them at different times. When you change themes do you sometimes lose them then also? It is very aggravating! Wonder if it's some type of glitch?

It's most likely the memory issue. If you run critically low on memory, the phone will delete them, no matter how long you've told it to keep them.

I'm not sure if i buy it either but it came directly from our Blackberry sales support hotline.

Unless you talked to RIM directly, I would bet you knew more about the issue than the person on the other end of the phone. Most of them are "Big Book Readers", getting everything they know from a list of canned answers.
