Random deletion

Hey everyone, I need to pick your brains if possible. A friend of mine got a BB Curve (ATT) in the last month. Today she called and told me that her Curve has deleted all of her text messages and all her pics. She said it's already happened once before.

She's got the 8310 red and has a 2GB card. She got a message that there wasn't enough memory for something she wanted to do, the text messages were already gone. She popped the battery out to check her micro card and when she powered back up, all of her pictures were gone too. I have the same phone in the titanium and I have tons of things stored both on the device and on the card and have never had this problem. I tried googling it but came up blank. I wondered if there could be a problem with her phone or if this is something you've seen before and is fixable.

When the memory goes critically low on your device, it will purge messages etc... best bet to delete any messages, apps, themes, ringers, etc you're not using.

The thing is that she didn't have a lot of info on the card or in the device. At least not compared to what I have and I have tons of space left. The other thing that I find odd is that it had already purged the messages, why did popping the battery delete the pics.
