Now I can't be positive but I think even the new Pearl models come with 4 LED lights, they just can't change color. It would still take that amount to light up the ball just like the 8100. I just bought the 8110 from Rogers, I'm going to look for a broken/parts 8100 with the LED lights still working and see about swapping them in. The software should then work because the lights can change color.
I'll fill you all in if I can actually make this happen.
