Upgrade BB must I install a Desktop Manager AGAIN?

Okay, so.... my I finally "killed" my bb-pearl. (I dropped it to the floor of no return) And instead of just getting the replacement I decided to just upgrade to a Curve. Here's the thing I am not sure of. I have my have my Desktop Manager installed from my pearl. Do I have to unistall it and re-install the one that came with the Curve? Or is it the same thing?
