Does anyone know if the soft reset for the Pearl will work on the BB 8310? If not is someone going to write one?

If I'm not mistaken, the qwerty devices us ALT+CAP+DEL to do a soft reset...

I am using the soft reset program from geekandproud on my 8320 and it works so I don't see why it wouldn't work on your 8310

I just got an 8310 and that is one of the first programs I put on it and it is working on it so far for me.

What's the point? Add an app that is redundant to what the device already does? Just to take up space? I don't understand?

It just stops you from having to do a battery pull...other than that it serves no purpose ;)

So does alt+cap+del. That's what's confusing to me. Soft reset is built into qwerty devices. 8100's didn't get it for some reason, hence the need for a soft reset program. Why load another app if your device already does it? That's what I was confused about.

and..why do you need to do soft resets on the 8300's? The main purpose of the soft reset program for the 8100 was to eliminate the battery pull after a software/theme install. Themes and software automatically update on the handhelds now...so..whats the point?

The only reason I have it on my curve is because I transferred everything from my pearl to my curve and the soft reset just came along for the ride. ;) I have just been too lazy to remove it.
