Assigning speed dials

I haven't had my Bold that long, but I noticed right off that speed dial A does a keypad lock. I haven't seen any way to edit and change that. Speed dial A used to be my mother-in-law. :) I have also found I can do a speed dial Q and change the profile to vibrate, which I do like. Is there any way to add a speed dial N to change the profile back to normal without having to go into profiles and change it manually? It would just be quicker and easier. If I try to assign a speed dial it will only let me pick from contacts. One time I did pull up a screen that showed all speed dials, but now I can't remember how I got there.
