no sound on tones

hi i just got a blackberry storm and when i try and change the ringtone and go through them and when i press the try it button so i can get an example of how it sounds nothings happens and when i try change the alarm tone it stays the same it changes on the screen but when i put the alarm on the same tone plays but when i change the tone i cant hear it on there either when i press try it.

any ideas?


btw the phone aint on mute and the volume is turned up.
