need help with doing animated backgrounds

i am fairly new to this idea of creating backgrounds but i have alot of ideas i would like to accomplish. i am having some difficulty as i would like to learn more and more about these things can do. i am curious as to make rain or snow fall on an image or even make a fire place look like the fire is moving. i have already downloaded blackberry theme builder with composer but if there is a different app that would allow this to be easier please help me out with that info. i cant seem to get a grasp on how to perform the tasks i am look for in the theme builder. any knowledge and guidance with these task would be greatley appreciated. thank you all and best of luck in making or downloading your themes!
