Yeah it is a known issue with Sprint also, so far the battery pull has been fixing mine, but its a little annoying to have to do that, but at least it is working. Sprint likes to give out refurbished phone for replacements and I really don't want one of those so I would probably spend a lot of time arguing my way to getting a new replacement instead of a refurb. I know the battery pull doesn't work for all pearls though, I have a coworker with a pearl and it was randomly deleting stuff despite the fact that it said it had lots of free space. I also removed some apps I don't use. My other coworker who has a pearl (I have lots of coworkers with pearls) has the same issue also and has to do the battery pull regularly.

Hello, okay so let me get this out of the way...I work for Verizon Wireless...whew..wasn't so bad. I have the Pearl and bought it when it first came out. Some of the things that I am telling my customers is...go into the options of your messages and keep them only 15 days. When it says Auto More make sure it says no. Also if you download a bunch of themes, ringtones and applications it runs the memory down. Only keep the ringtones that you use and so on as for the applications and themes. Remember, you can always download the theme later if you want to change it. Also like said above, when you close an application, please close it instead of just hitting the red button to go back to main screen. Believe me, I have been on the phone with my blackberry rep for the past two weeks about this issue and have threatened him a lot. Thank God he still talks to me and takes my calls. When he gives me any new information, I will pass on. Also remember, whenever a new phone comes out there is always bugs that need to be fixed. We depend on customers like you to tell us what needs to be fixed and what problems you are having. Hope this helps!

P.S. Just because I work for Verizon does not mean that I will give credits or adjust your account. Ha Ha Ha...

Thanks!

Oh, and dear God by a memory card! Put those pictures on it. Also if you don't have a memory card, you will not be able to use the camcorder. So yeah, a memory card it worth it. (Here goes my little sales pitch) And right now in most Verizon stores, we are having what is called Red Hot Deal Days, you can get a 2gig card for $29.99... Oh yeah so worth it!!!

Yeah as long as we are all being honest, I work for Sprint lol! Please don't hold it against me :sorry: Anyway I have a memory card and I keep all my pics and wallpapers on it as well as ringtones so that is a good idea, and I also close apps all the way, I deleted unused apps and themes, and I delete my messages often, all of which seems to help. One questions, what does the Auto More setting actually do? Thanks!

I'm also on my second Sprint 8130 phone for all the reason mentioned above. ^^

I love the phone and new features but it's been un-reliable and so it sets on my desk attached to a charger.

I'm still using my original TMO Pearl. It seems to purr and never has any noticeable issues like the 8130 does. Sprint has asked that i sent the phone in again. For now i'm not going to b/c it's such a pain.

I've come to the conclusion the 4.3.x O.S is great but like any first gereration has some minor issues that need worked out. I will be updating the 8130 O.S when another option is available. It has to be better.

No need to defend the BB to me, I love mine, I have only had the one issue, which is more of an annoyance. I do have a direct number to BB but I wanted to get everyone's thoughts and experiences etc, lots of good info so thank you to everyone who posted! Anyway, 3 people at my work have pearls, only 1 person has had bad issues, myself and my other coworker have had only the memory leak issue, but rebooting seems to be working to reset that so far. However my other coworker has had to have hers replaced and now is having issues with the new one, mostly it won't connect to the internet and won't text and sometimes the phone part shuts off and is hard to get to turn back on. I love my BB though I have only had it 2 months and I am convinced I can't live without one now!:bounce:

Guess what! My second pearl decided to wipe my BBmessenger last night! I did a soft reset and it's fine now. This is how my first one started acting... ugh. I don't want to go back to my 8830 (since Verizon isn't getting the Curve) but I don't think I can handle going through 3 Pearls!! I'll give it more time and pray for the best.

Yikes, good luck with that I will keep my fingers crossed that yours keeps working, having to replace phones is a huge pain! What happens to your messenger now? do you get it back?

I agree!! What a pain, although switching BlackBerry's with the DM is a snap! Still a painful snap! lol

I was in my BBM, texting away, then all of a sudden the screen goes white and my text window (where you type) disappears! I exit the BBM, enter it again and it looks ok, but to type more than one line of text makes it lock up!
I exit again and then it's impossible to reenter the app! I do a soft reset and it's ok.

Another issue is the typical magical vanishing sms and emails! One second they're there, the next they aren't!

My friendly (seriously! They are really good to me) Verizon tech suggested the soft reset, the wipe and reinstall etc etc. I've done it all... on both BB's! It seems ok right now, and I try to keep minimal apps on it to keep my memory up. We'll see...
