Custom Avatar

I am able to get an avatar on my desktop but not on my BB. How does that work?

Ok I figured out that the smileys are part of the signature. Now I have a smiley and an avatar in my reply that works on my desktop but not when Im on my BB. Like the same message will look different depending on what I use to get online.
