Folks hi there,
Is it me or the curve 8310 internal memory capacity should be 64 mb but mine show only 54.9 mb (I am not talking abt how much memory is available on the phone after installing Apps or skin or firmware and etc...)
may somebody would be able to shed some light on this issue.
Many thanks

The way I understand it, the guidelines for counting memory are really vague. Even though the laptop I bought only has 2.99 Gb of ram, they're allowed to call it 3. Its an industry thing that is done everywhere. Your 2Gb flash memory card isn't 2Gb, it's probably more like 1.97. Unfair, but that's the way it is.

Thanks for the reply, but I am certain thats not the case now, computer in converting the gigs and mb would make the discrepency not the OS installation or roundup. This must be another srew up by BB.
Thanks

So the number changes with the os? Is that what you're saying?

I'm in exact same situation as usit. Model 8310, ATT carrier and same OS. My system also shows 54.919 mb of memory. That may make you feel better because it is nothing that you (or I) have done to reduce the memory. My experience is that some discrepancy could occur because of the way it is measured (decimal vs. binary notation). But it still should not be that low and I'm guessing the remaining difference is being used for the OS.

OK, how do you check your memory?
