does anyone know why verizon hid the mac options on the 8830? It took me a few hours of searching the web and bb's site in order to find the appropriate software to allow me to back up my bb on my mac.

What software did you use? I'm interested in knowing more?
Did you see this post? it will give you options for sync on the BB.

Yes, thats what i found after a few hours of scouring the web!
My friend over at Apple was telling me that the Desktop manager is coming out for sure...but in the mean time to use the PocketMac Syncmanager it works the exact same way.

I'm hoping the new version will have the backup/restore/switch device options the PC version does.

i have pocketmac and it been acting strange with my 8830. I had a 8100 and never gave me problems. Also my memory card in the 8830 wont copy music or pics if is in the 8830 but work ok with my 8100. any ideas as to why? i formated the card once inside the 8830.

This is definitely good news! I'm surprised that it has taken so long for companies to realize that Mac's are more than just a passing fad! I for one will not go back to the PC world.
