Sprayed the trackball with compressed gas duster and the trackball started functioning properly. It must have been dusty or dirty.
*Special thanks to the user who posted the solution to my problem.
It just so happens I was browsing the forums and had never had a problem with my Blackberry 8830. A few days later my trackball started jamming up and not wanting to move in different directions. Thankfully I had read the Themes4BB forums.
