So this is a true story, just happened a few minutes ago and another great reason why the blackberry curve from tmobile is a absolutely good post.
I was on a call with the significant other, talking about our hopes and dreams, and goals when out of nowhere the call went dead.. only to find out that the call failed.. so i call up tmobile at 12:19 am est.. and the tell me the tower is having issues in my area and it might be a day or two before its fully functioning and blackberry users in my area are having issues. So i switch over to the wifi function on my 8320 and called the significant other back.
During the call with her on the wifi/uma i find out that the call quality is clearer..
But the point of the story is, i'd be miserable without talking to the signifcant other at night and this is where my blackberry curve saved the day...
