About the messages, I agree with you. The only alternative I see it’s to copy the text and e-mail back to an exist account.

The APP 523 error, searching the web, it seems it’s an error in relation with Java. The only appears one time to me. But from day one, my BB is not ok.

Regular crashes and random turn off and turn on, that it’s very irritating. This crashes are very strange, because they happens when circulating the menus, taking photos or even in a phone conversation. It is random, that it's very difficult to see the cause.

I’ve downloaded and installed the latest versions of the Desktop Manager and handheld software. Used JL Commander, cleaned the BB (factory reset mode), installed again all the software (it’s the normal one that it’s supplied with the BB, nothing special about it).

I though that it was ok, but continues the same, crashing all the time..
I will return it to the carrier. I thing it’s a hardware problem!

It’s possibly to lock the keyboard automatically? Like, 30 seconds with no activity from the user, it lock auto?

How is the procedure that the BB uses to detect he is on the pocket case? Light sensor?

Locking - yes, go to options, security, general settings and enable a password. Then set security timeout. You can also set to lock when you holster the unit. Remember, if you get the password wrong 10 times, you will wipe it clean.

The device knows it is in a case/holster because of a magnet in the case/holster. This shuts the screen down and changes the profile settings based on how you have them programmed.

I think that the problem I had was the same you describe.
It was like a random restart that I cannot do it again in front of the informatics colleague (he is also responsible for communication's the firm).

So, with random problems, it was my word against his. I've tried everything at home, and the problem persisted every time. So, I used the JL_Cmdr, and wiped out the device.

Next day I went straight to him, and told "See, I was right. This BB is not good. It even does not turn on. As I expected, when he looked to the BB, he saw the 505 error, that is "No OS installed", he was with no answer to me.

He just grabbed another box and gave me a new BB. It worked for me :)

This new one I have, is already one week and never gave me a problem.

Maybe you can try this move also....

Hi all I'm a newbie as well. I also got a different error message about java.lang and I'm missing Yahoo on my phone. I kept doing a search on how to get Yahoo back but it seems like there is no way of fixing it. I read it should only be a problem with AT&T but I'm with T-Mobile. Should I call them to fix this problem?
