low ringtones

can somebody help explain to me why my ringtones are very low on my 8830 this is my second bb8830 and this 1 is doing it to pls help its sounds fine when you listen to it in media but when you assine it its barely hearable hlep,help ,help...................

check the profile you're using, there are volume settings in the profile menu...

Having the same problem would be very interested to know if there is a fix. I am using the loud profile and still having the same issue.

most of the time it is the ringtone itself that does that because i have some that can barely be heard turned all the way up and others that are on medium that i can hear from across the room

I have not had this problem but i know a lot of people who have. Did you already to into advanced settings and make sure everything is set to loud? Also this website myxertones.com seems to have a lot of up to date ringtones that are loud and do not give me a problem. When i made my own ringtone on my PC it didnt work properly. give it a shot

On your main screen, select "call logs", then push your "menu/BlackBerry button", scroll to "options", then select "general options", here you will find "default Call Volume". Last night I downloaded lates version of the OS for ATT and my volume was very quiet, I tried the side keys and that didn't help; I went into the loud profile and it already was set to "high" that didn't make a difference. The trick was finding the "default call volume" and all is well now! Again, I have ATT Pearl 8100, but I hope this helps. Ted

Try Mp3gain a third party app. You can adjust the Volume of the ring you are using. I have just heard of this, I haven't used it myself.

Where did you get the ringtones from? When I make ringtones in wavpad, I have to amplify the volume by 200% in order for them to play loud on my 8830. It may be the place you're getting them from or look for a way to amplify the volume if you're making them.

Is it happening on your "stock" BB ringers?

I have found that some ringtones are just inherently loud and others quiet. Try paying around with different tone. I would recommend downloading some different ones to try.
