Messenger Problems - HELP!

Hi
I am a new owner of the Curve and recently my blackberry messenger has started putting symbols next to my name, it wont let me delete it or change my name, on my side it looks like arabic letters on anyone else it looks like blocks,
It even formats my sentances by putting the punctuation at the beginning instead of the end, I want it to stop but want to avoid wiping out my phone and resetting it, does anyone have any last attempts I could possibly try that might do the trick?

Sounds similar to what happened to me. Go to "options" then to "language". Make sure english is selected. Hope that helps.

I should have also added. For some reason, the language switched to Arabic.

try clicking alt+enter, that's the "switch input language" shortcut on some BB's

but only if you have this thingy turned on:

options / language / use input language shortcut

otherwise it should lock your keyboard
