On my 8820, all of the themes combine my email messages and sms messages into the messages folder. I have separate folders for my email accounts but there isn't a separate folder for sms. If I set the message options to separate sms and email, then sms messages are received but they don't appear in any folders.
How can I get my sms messages and email messages separated into their own folders? Thanks.

it may be the theme that you are using doesnt have the sms/mms folder... try to change the theme and see if that works... i have mine seperate and its fine...

The theme I'm using right now is the standard AT&T theme...it has a folder for messages, a folder for my gmail account, and a folder for my blackberry account. But I can't seem to make the messages folder show only sms, it's either sms and email or just emails.
Which theme are you using?

open up your mail options/general options scroll to SMs and e mail inboxes
change to separate see if that helps

I tried that...when I set them to separate my sms messages don't appear anywhere. It's the theme, I need to find one that keeps them separated into their own folders.

I found the other icon, it was under applications which is not where I want it. I suppose there's no way to move it?

I'm not sure what you're asking. The theme I'm using is an icon theme. When I set the option to separate the messages, I get an sms folder but it appears in the applications folder rather than on the main screen.

use the theme that show all your i cons on the desktop.
options / themes and then there should be three types in there choose Icon
and it will show you what it will look like on your desktop and then just move the SMs folder were you want it.
