How to Download Themes

To download themes via OTA you'll need to use your BB's browser via internet to get the theme to your phone...once you have the theme downloaded you'll need to pull the battery to kick it into your themes folder on your bb... To get themes via ZIP you'll need to use your desktop manager (should of came with you bb on a cd) if you have the DM downloaded to your pc..make sure your OS is also downloaded to your pc, you can get this by going blackberry.com under software. If you're not sure what your OS is..go to options/about and it will start with the letter V followed by some number.. example v.4.2.1.96 Once you have that done make sure the zip is on your computer and unzipped to a location you can find easily, then you connect your phone to your PC using an USB cable open the DM select the application loader and find where you unzipped the theme you grabbed...click on the .alx file and then hit next...the theme will then load to your phone, this could take up to 2mins depending how big the file is..DO NOT disconnect from the PC until the phone reboots...

Cannot Download Zip Themes

We are greatly concerned about a number of our theme developer's content being stolen and sold or reposted on other sites. That is why we are phasing out zip files from the site. Yes, we do still have quite a number but as you will see more of our developers are not offering ZIP files and we can understand why. So eventually Zip files will be a thing of the past but it will take time. If you are a theme developer and want to create OTA files yet do not know how, please send an email to ota@themes4bb.com. We will offer you a solution to handle this. Not only is reposting themes against our Terms of Service, but its also stealing and a copyright infringement. We do take this quite serious. We aplogize if this is not acceptable to you as a member, but understand our position. We are providing free content to you..and some of the membership have taken it upon themselves to steal that content to post on other sites for their financial benefit.

No Applications Were Found

So... you just downloaded and awesome theme and want to add it to your BlackBerry. You are using Desktop Manager, and you get this error message "No New Applications Were Found For Your Device."

Now what do you?

It's very important you read the below information and follow the instuctions in order to use your Desktop Manger to install 3rd party apps or themes.

The Desktop Manager is one program The Handheld O.S (operating system) is another DIFFERENT program. BOTH need to be installed on the pc in order for the Desktop Manager to work.

Issue: When trying to load applications or themes via Desktop Manager you get an error stating "No additional applications were found for your device".

Resolution: Download your Handheld O.S (operating system). The download is free from your Carriers web site.

Install the O.S on your PC, plug the blackberry into pc, open Desktop Manager and run application loader (if not prompted)

Note: i would uninstall any previous Blackberry O.S's that you may have on your PC, in add/remove programs in your control panel.

I can't find my theme on my phone

It came to our attention (after researching for the last 2 hours) that there is no single thread about common issues when installing themes. So...i figure I will make one. The following is what I found for installed theme, which is (are) visible in "Options -- Advanced Options -- Applications", will not show up in "Options -- Themes" 1. In order to install custom themes, you have to have original Dimension Today, Zen, and Icon themes installed on your BlackBerry. These themes are on all devices by default but could have been removed for whatever reasons. 2. Theme is not build for your device or software version, but note that you can install lower OS theme version but not the higher one. 3. Battery needs to be pulled after OTA installation. When installing through Desktop Manager it is performed automatically. 4. If installing using Desktop Manager current BlackBerry OS must be installed on a computer. 5. BES (IT restriction) for those that are using it, might prevent you from installing third party applications, thus for themes as well. This is usually up to your IT department. 6. Not Enough Memory or Lack of Memory, which is rare occasion but it might prevent you from installing. These are just the once I found searching the Internet. If anyone has some more ideas why would installation fail, please feel free to add it here. Maybe admins could make this 'sticky' as it seem to be important to this site.
